Located in downtown Kuala Lumpur, Bandar Malaysia covers an area of 486 acres, and has a total floor space of about 8.4 million square meters. The main structure is a two-storey island-like underground one. It measures 335.5 meters in length, and the horizontal utmost width gap reaches 21.3 meters. The construction team overcame various tough challenges including complicated geological and transportation conditions to complete the station, which is 21 meters below ground.

The second-phase MRT project is a major program initiated by the Malaysian government under the 10th Malaysia Plan. It is the hub for the second and third phases of KTM Komuter, KTM Intercity and Express Rail Link planned by the government.(By Zhang Gang and Zuo Wenfeng)
