The 15th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) 2018 was held on September 12 to 15 in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. On September 13, Yu Tengqun, Vice-president and Chief Legal Counsel of CREC, attended the China - Myanmar Economic Corridor Forum and the 1st China-ASEAN Young Leaders Forum during the CAEXPO and delivered keynote speeches in the above activities.

The China-Myanmar Economic Corridor Forum is co-sponsored by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC),People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Ministry of Planning and Investment of Myanmar. Leaders from the above mentioned government bodies as well as other representatives of governments and enterprises from China and Myanmar attended the forum and delivered speeches.

Vice President Yu Tengqun delivered a keynote speech entitled "Jointly building China-Myanmar railway to boost economic prosperity along China-Myanmar economic corridor". He said, as the world pursues a green, low-carbon and innovative economy, and under the Belt and Road initiative, global railway development faces historical opportunities. In China, railroads have made significant contributions to the nation’s economic and social development. The construction of China-Myanmar railway will play a positive role in social, economic and cultural development of Myanmar. CREC, with whole-chained advantage and special expertise in railway construction, stands ready to build the China-Myanmar railway through joint efforts and consultation with local companies, so as to promote the prosperous development of Myanmar and bring benefits to the two peoples.

In the afternoon, at the invitation of CAEXPO secretariat, Yu Tengqun also attended the 1st China-ASEAN Young Leaders Forum along with Chen Gang, Vice-Chairman of People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and over 100 elites from different industries. Yu Tengqun delivered a keynote speech entitled "Belt and Road Development and Responsibility of the Youth".

During the forum, Yu Tengqun also had meetings with officials from the Department of Foreign Capital and Overseas Investment of NDRC, Economic Section of Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, Ministry of Planning and Finance of Myanmar, etc., and discussed on how to speed up the implementation of China-Myanmar railway project with them. Later, he was interviewed by Xinhua News Agency and other media agencies. Related personnel from International Business Division of CREC and CREC's subsidiary China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. also attended the above activities.
