Bi Yanchun undertook business activities in Zimbabwe

From August 2 to 5, Harare time, Bi Yanchun, Chairman of China Railway International Group Co., Ltd. (CRIG),undertook a series of business activities and offered guidance on the operations in Zimbabwe. He paid a courtesy call to Zhou Ding, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, and held talks with Mthuli Ncube, Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion of Zimbabwe, Martin Manungudza, Chief Executive Officer of the Mutapa Investment Fund, and Respina Zinyandu, Board Chairperson of the National Railways of Zimbabwe.

On August 5, Bi Yanchun paid a courtesy call on Zhou Ding, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe.Bi Yanchun provided a brief overview of China Railway Group Limited (CREC) and China Railway International Group Co., Ltd. (CRIG) business development and key projects progress in Zimbabwe, and updated the Ambassador on exchanges with relevant Zimbabwean government ministries and agencies. Ambassador Zhou Ding acknowledged the company's achievements in local market development and the phased progress of key projects. He offered guidance on the continued advancement of the key projects and further cultivation of the local market, and he expressed the expectation that CRIG would actively and prudently facilitate the implementation and realization of key projects, thus fully contributing to the building of the China-Zimbabwe all-weather community with a shared future.

On August 4, Bi Yanchun held talks with Mthuli Ncube, Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion of Zimbabwe. Bi Yanchun conducted detailed discussions on integrated solutions for key projects and the necessary support in need. Minister Ncube gave full recognition to CRIGs commitment to deepening its presence in the Zimbabwean market and contributing to local economic development. He fully concurred with the great significance of unlocking resource endowments through majorproject development, boosting economic growth along the corridors and advancing regional connectivity. He stated that the Ministry would, from the overarching perspective of national development, coordinate policy synergy and resource matching and allocation to offer full support for the successful delivery of the projects.

On the same day, Bi Yanchun held talks with Dr. Martin Manungudza, CEO of the Mutapa Investment Fund. The two parties conducted candid exchanges on the progress of key projects and reached important consensus. The Mutapa Investment Fund will actively coordinate its affiliated state-owned enterprises to resolve relevant issues, implement project plans, and work jointly with CREC to deliver tangible outcomes for key projects.

During the visit, Bi Yanchun met with Dr. Respina Zinyandu, Board Chairperson of the National Railways of Zimbabwe. The two sides had thorough discussions on cooperation mechanisms and promotion plans for key projects, formulated practical and viable solutions, and reached broad consensus on advancing the modernization of Zimbabwe’s railway network, serving local socio-economic development and improving people’s wellbeing.
