On September 30 (local time),Dubai Station on the UAE’s Etihad Rail officially commenced commercial operations. With this, all three stations of the Etihad Rail Station Project, for which CRIG acted as general contractor, have been put into operation. This marks the initial completion of the backbone of the UAE’s national passenger rail network and provides greater convenience for local residents traveling between emirates.

On September 28, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan traveled on an Etihad Rail passenger train from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and attended the inauguration ceremony for Dubai Station.
The Etihad Rail Station Project is CREC's first railway station building project in the Middle East to be implemented under the design-build model. It comprises three medium- and large-sized stations—Abu Dhabi Station, Dubai Station and Fujairah Station—with a total gross floor area of more than 20,000 square meters, and constitutes an important part of the UAE’s national passenger rail infrastructure.
With all three stations now open, Abu Dhabi Station, Dubai Station and Fujairah Station form an interconnected network, closely linking Abu Dhabi, the capital; Dubai, the economic hub; and Fujairah, the gateway to the East Coast. Together, they create a major east-west passenger corridor across the UAE, giving new impetus to enhancing regional connectivity, making travel easier for the public and promoting economic and social development.
