On May 6, with the precise placement of the final blade, the installation of the first batch of 16 MW offshore wind turbines for the Zhangpu Offshore Wind Farm Phase II Project, constructed by the China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group under CREC, was successfully completed.
The impeller diameter of the 16 MW offshore wind turbine installed this time is 252 meters, with a swept area of approximately 50,000 square meters. Based on years of wind measurement data from the sea area, a single unit can generate 34.2 kilowatt-hours of electricity per rotation, yielding an average annual output of over 66 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity. This output is sufficient to meet the annual electricity needs of 36,000 three-person households, save around 22,000 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 54,000 tons.
