On March 31, the southern section of Nanjing Metro Line 5, built by Shanghai Civil Engineering Co,.Ltd. Of CREC, was officially opened for initial operation.
Nanjing Metro Line 5 is 37.4 kilometers long and has 30 stations. The initial operation was from Jiyin Avenue Station to Wenjing Road Station, which is 12.9 kilometers long and has nine stations. Shanghai Civil Engineering Co, Ltd. Of CREC has undertaken the construction tasks of Qianzhuang Road Station, Kening Road Station, and Section of Nanjing Metro Line 5, and the renovation of the control center of Nanjing South Railway Station.
After the opening of the southern section of Line 5, Nanjing will further build a vertical and horizontal three-dimensional transportation network, strengthen the linkage between Jiangning District and the central area of Nanjing, and promote the economic development and urbanization process of the regions along the line.
