On May 11, the Chengdu-Huangshengguan section of the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway, which boasts the title of China's longest single-bore, double-track railway tunnel, was completed. This remarkable feat was a collaborative effort between the survey and design expertise of the China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group and the construction prowess of the China Railway No.2 Group.

The Chenghuang section of the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway is classified as a first-grade double-track railway for passenger and freight services. It is designed to accommodate passenger trains traveling at speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour and freight trains traveling at speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour. The line has an approximate length of 276 kilometers and an impressive bridge and tunnel ratio of 80%. With 13 stations along its route, the opening of this railway will enable direct travel by rail to the scenic Jiuzhai Valley.

According to reports, a sizable disaster prevention and rescue station was established within the Desheng Tunnel, marking China's and Asia's inaugural single-hole, double-track tunnel. The station is meticulously designed with a three-tiered structure for smoke exhaust at the top, middle-level evacuation, and lower-level evacuation. It encompasses 35 expansive caverns spanning over 3100 meters and features an intricate structure and substantial scale.
