World's Largest-span Aqueduct Wins International Recognition

Anthem of CREC—“Trailbreaker”

  The awarding ceremony of the 2021 International BIM Competition “Smart BIM” and the third High-Level Forum on the Application of Digital Technologies in Construction Sector took place on November 12.

  The building information modeling (BIM) technology for the world’s largest-spanning aqueduct over the Pihe River of the Yangtze-to-Huaihe Water Diversion project stood out from 217 projects and won the first prize of the International BIM Competition in 2021. The project was conducted by China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group and its subsidiary of Steel Structure Construction Co., Ltd. CREC representatives shared the case with attendees on the awarding ceremony.

Steel flumes for world’s largest-spanning aqueduct over the Pihe River of the Yangtze-to-Huaihe Water Diversion project are completed.

 

  The competition was hosted by Guangdong Urban Architecture Society, the Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors and Chartered Institute of Building and co-hosted by the BRE, the Academy of Multi-Skills, Macao academy of building information and Graphisoft. The organizing committee received 773 submissions from competitors in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), Macao SAR, Taiwan and countries around the world. The submissions covered the application of BIM technology in various buildings and stages of construction.
