Anthem of CREC—“Trailbreaker”

With a total length of 3.42 kilometers, the Parrot Island Bridge is the 8th Yangtze River Bridge in Wuhan City and is the second-circle crossing channel in Wuhan. With two-way eight lanes, the span of the main bridge is 2,100 meters (200+2×850+200) and the bridge deck is 38 meters wide. It is the widest Yangtze River Bridge in Wuhan and the world's first long-span suspension bridge with three-tower and four-span structure.

Wuhan Parrot Island Bridge

The project was started in 2011 and scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in 2014. During the construction process, a series of world-leading technologies were applied, including new materials, structures, equipment and processes. As the largest circular caisson in China, North Anchorage Based Gravity Caisson with the outer diameter of 66 meters and a total height of 43 meters adopted the new structure of “perforated ring plus cross wall”, whose sinking depth is 45 meters. The project won the National Worker Pioneer, Hubei Provincial Worker Pioneer, Wuhan “May 1 worker" award and many other honors.
