A delegation led by President of CREC Mr. Zhang Zongyan has paid a visit to Panama from August 8 to 11, 2018.
On August 8, President Zhang visited Panama’s Ministry of Public Works (MOP) with Chinese Minister of Transportation Mr. Li Xiaopeng. Minister Li expressed China’s wish to carry out all-round cooperation with Panama to jointly promote the Belt and Road Initiative. He also addressed the advantages and strength of CREC in detail to Vice Minister Flores who in return spoke highly of the comprehensive strength and reputation of Chinese enterprises.
On August 10, President Zhang and his delegation had a meeting with Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela. President Zhang gave a brief introduction of CREC and its business in Panama. President Varela praised the strength and achievements of CREC, and extended his warm welcome and support to CREC to invest and participate in the infrastructure construction in Panama.

President Zhang and Minister Li also held bilateral talks with Minister of Panama Canal Affairs Robert Roy, who later introduced the general information of Panama Canal and series of projects bidding plans by local canal authorities and welcomed Chinese enterprises including CREC to tender. Minister Li responded that Chinese enterprises would, actively and positively, carry out feasibility study to ensure the punctuality and quality of infrastructure construction in Panama.
The heads of International Business Division of CREC and four CREC’s subsidiaries - China Railway Eryuan Engineering Co. Ltd., China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group and China Railway No.10 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. - also attended the activities above.
