CRECGZ-built Bissau Fishing Port Completes Dredging Goal
Source: Date:2020年08月21日

The north breakwater of the fishing port, constructed by the Port and Channel Engineering Co., Ltd. under China Railway Guangzhou Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CRECGZ) in Guinea-Bissau, completed the goal to dredge 25,000 cubic meters of silt on August 10, laying the foundation for next-stage riprapping operation and marking a phased outcome after the project resumed construction.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, Guinea-Bissau declared a national emergency on March 28, causing the project to completely suspend. With the epidemic situation getting better, the project applied for resuming construction of on-water facilities at the end of May. Upon the ratification by Guinea-Bissau Prime Minister Nuno Gomes Nabiam and after careful examination of the governing authorities and Chinese Embassy in Guinea-Bissau, construction of the on-water facilities was officially resumed on July 15. The phased goal of dredging 25,000 cubic meters of silt was originally scheduled to be completed before April 30, but it was delayed 106 days due to the impact of the epidemic. After the resumption of construction, the dredging goal was scheduled to be completed on August 30, but it was actually accomplished 20 days in advance.  (By Yang Zhi)
