Twelve students from impoverished households in Wanchang Township, Zhaojue County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, visited the uniform garment company of China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co., Ltd. on August 3, led by Xu Zhenyu, head of local poverty alleviation working group.
The uniform garment company presented the students clothes and models of shield tunneling machine and encouraged them to aim high and work hard. Technicians from the company introduced the students the construction of major railways and a cloud platform of big data on shield tunneling, helping the students understand that transportation connectivity is the first step to get rid of poverty.

During the visit, the two sides closed an agreement on purchasing potatoes, mutton and beef among other agricultural products as a way to boost consumption of farm goods produced in Zhaojue County and help the impoverished county under state support to win the battle against poverty.
Since 2015, the company has donated more than 1,000 items of books and clothes to primary schools in Zhaojue County and raised more than 60,000 yuan for the schools.
