Four high schools in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, constructed by China Railway NO. 5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. were completed on July 30 after 210 days’ construction. The four schools are Yanshan No.4 High School, Yanshan No. 5 High School, Qiubei No. 3 High School and Qiubei No.4 High School. They will provide access to senior high-school education to nearly 20,000 students from impoverished mountainous areas, a way to help local people get rid of poverty.

Wenshan is a place with picturesque scenery and friendly people, but its education facilities were limited due to the geographical location. Yunnan provincial authorities decided to boost senior high-school education in Wenzhou and announced to build and expand 86 high schools in the prefecture this year. China Railway NO. 5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. was commissioned to co-design and construct 43 out of the 86 schools.
