On February 25, local time, 159 kilometers of asphalt pavement of the Espino Highway Project in Bolivia was completed, marking another solid step towards the full completion and opening of the first highway project undertaken by CREC in Bolivia.
The Espino Highway Project is located in the surrounding area of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, with a total length of 159.4 kilometers, a pavement width of 7 meters and two lanes in both directions. China Railway International Group, on behalf of CREC, performs the general contracting management function of the project, and the Dalian Branch of China Railway No.9 Group Co., Ltd is responsible for paving the asphalt pavement of the whole line.
The Espino Highway Project in Bolivia is a preferential loan project for critical infrastructure cooperation between China and Bolivia. This section belongs to the F36 line of the national basic highway network in Bolivia, which is a vital livelihood project for the Bolivian government to promote the economic development of Charagua region, expand the scale of local agricultural and animal husbandry operations, and improve the living standards of the local Guaraní people.
