On August 24, local time, the commencement ceremony of the project of Mbale Industrial Park in Uganda, which China Railway No.3 Engineering Group constructed, was held. Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and the heads of Uganda's Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Energy and Mining, Ministry of Investment, Ministry of Industry and Investment Bureau, and Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zhang Lizhong attended the opening ceremony.
The Mbare Industrial Park project in Uganda has a total contract value of 820 million yuan, consisting of two parts: park roads and water supply and drainage projects. The park roads are comprised of three parts: entrance roads, boundary roads, and main roads within the park, with a total of 22 roads and a length of 20.15 kilometers. The water supply project consists of a water plant with a daily production capacity of 13,000 tons of clean water, 19,246 meters of water supply pipelines, and a 3,000 cubic meter stainless steel water storage tank. The drainage project consists of a sewage treatment plant with a daily wastewater treatment capacity of 9,000 tons, 14,060 meters of drainage pipelines, and 13 lift pumping stations. This project's construction will provide many employment opportunities for local residents, improve the local traffic and logistics conditions, and play an essential role in promoting Uganda's economic and social development.
