On June 9, the right tunnel of Shanchahua Tunnel of Yiwei Expressway Bid 2 was completed, and the node target of the whole tunnel was completed on schedule.
Shanchahua Tunnel is the control project of the whole line, located in the area from Shuanghe Town, Changning County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province to Didong Town, Gongxian County. The left tunnel is 6284 meters long, completed on May 7 this year, and the right tunnel is 6328 meters long. The terrain conditions, stratum lithology, geological structure, and weathering degree of the tunnel are complex and changeable. The proportion of IV and V-grade surrounding rock reaches 73%, which is prone to water and mud inrush, belonging to high-risk tunnels, and the construction operation is complex.
After the completion of the Yiwei Expressway, another provincial expressway will be formed in southern Sichuan, which will be connected with the completed Yiyi and Yixu expressways to create a regional expressway network in southern Sichuan and enhance the overall efficiency of the network.
