On August 22, with the cutter head of the "Tongcheng Trailblazer" (CREC 1286) pipe jacking machine slowly breaking through the soil, the double-track pipe jacking project of the rapid reconstruction (urban section) of the main road of Wuzhen Avenue in Tongxiang City, which was constructed by the Shanghai Company of China TIESIJU Civil Engineering Group, was officially completed, marking the successful completion of the world's first large-section rectangular curve pipe jacking project.
The Wuzhen Avenue Expressway Reconstruction (Urban Section) Project is about 2,580 meters long. The pipe-jacking project passes through Zhongshan East Road with a section of 82.8 square meters and a net length of 162 meters. The maximum buried depth is 6.1 meters, and the vertical longitudinal slope is 0.6%. It is designed as a bi-directional four-lane road, and the pipe-jacking construction is carried out on both sides. The construction of the pipe-jacking section began on April 10th, and it took 134 days for the double-track connection to be completed, which was 19 days ahead of schedule.
The Tongcheng Trailblazer CREC 1286, developed by China Railway Hi-Tech Industry in conjunction with China TIESIJU Civil Engineering Group, is 7.22 meters high, 11.52 meters wide, and 5.805 meters long, weighing about 450 tons and undertakes the top construction tasks of the left and right lines. To meet the unique working conditions of large section and long-distance rectangular tunnel curve excavation for this project, the Tongcheng Trailblazer adopts a compact main engine design adapted to curves, equipped with a posture intelligent control system for curve advance and a low disturbance excavation system to ensure safe and efficient equipment excavation.
