On January 9, the Baisha Yangtze River Bridge in Luzhou City, the world's largest cable-stayed bridge with twin towers, single columns and central parallel cable planes, was successfully closed by the Ninth Bridge of China Railway Hi-Tech Industry.
Baisha Yangtze River Bridge is 1321.7 meters long, with a deck width of 27.5 meters and a main span of 520 meters. The design standard is two-way, four-lane, with a speed of 60 kilometers per hour. It is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in May this year. China Railway Jiujiang Bridge Engineering Group is mainly responsible for manufacturing, transporting, and welding about 9100 tons of steel box girders in 35 girder sections of the bridge.
