Source: Date:2022年11月28日

The project starts in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and ends at Bandung, a famous tourist city, with a total length of 142.3 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The line starts from Jakarta, passes through Bekasi City, Bekasi County, Karawang County, Puwangada County, West Bandung County, Jimaxu City, and Bandung County, and ends at Bandung City. At present, the tunnel of the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway is fully connected, and the completion of subgrade, bridge, and station civil works is more than 92%. The construction of the project has been transferred from off-line construction to online construction, and the operation conditions of the whole line have been met by the end of June 2023.

After completion and opening to traffic, the travel time between Jakarta and Bandung will be shortened from more than three hours to 40 minutes, which will greatly improve the local traffic conditions, facilitate people"s travel, promote industrial development along the line, and enhance the level of regional economic and social development.

The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway passes through one of the most densely populated areas in the world. On Java Island, the regional earthquake intensity is as high as 9, and volcanoes are frequent. Bandung is located in the regional subsidence section, along which the rainfall is extremely abundant, the climate is complex and changeable, the mountains and ravines are vertical and horizontal, and the rock geology is complex. The bridge length of the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway line accounts for 61.5%, the tunnel length accounts for 11.7%, and the roadbed length accounts for 26.8%. Chinese builders have built 58 bridges using smart beam yard construction technology, and 13 tunnels, including the longest 6 # tunnel in Indonesia, have been successfully completed with Chinese technology and equipment.

As the major construction enterprise of the Chinese side in the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway, CREC undertook the construction of about 57 kilometers of line in the direction of the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway near Bandung, as well as the construction of power and electrification, works along the whole line. Tegal Luar Station, one of the four stations, was first started and completed, and a high-standard EMU depot was built as a base for the repair and maintenance of EMU high-speed railway CRH train. CREC has introduced a series of advanced tunnel equipment, such as large beam lifting machines, beam transport vehicles, bridge erecting machines, and track operation vehicles, into the Indonesian construction market, which has greatly shortened the effective construction time while ensuring quality and safety.

Up to now, the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway control project undertaken by CREC has been completed, with the overall progress exceeding 96%. Completion of civil works such as tunnel, bridge main body, roadbed and main structure of housing construction; More than 90% of the steel structure of the building has been completed, and the decoration and equipment installation has been carried out simultaneously.

On November 16, 2022, during the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia, the 14km first section of the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway (between Dekarur Station and Padalalang Station) was displayed to the public. The ceremony was held at the Dekarur Station of Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway, which was constructed by CREC.

The Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway will strongly promote Indonesia"s economic and social development.

Java Island, where Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway is located, is the fifth largest island in Indonesia and the most populous and densely populated island in Indonesia. The capital Jakarta, the second largest city Surabaya, the third largest city Bandung, the third largest port Semarang and the famous historical cities Yogyakarta, Bogor and other major industrial, commercial and tourist cities in the country are concentrated here. With a resident population of about 145 million, accounting for half of Indonesia"s population, it is the most economically and culturally developed region in Indonesia.

After the completion and operation of Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway, passenger transport services, equipment maintenance and related supporting industry extension services will create 30000 jobs every year.

The completion of the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway will help improve the ecological environment along the line. At present, car travel between Jakarta and Bandung accounts for about 90%, and environmental pollution is serious. After the opening of the high-speed railway, it will provide a green way of travel for the citizens of the two places and contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
