The longest tunnel of the whole line-No.6 tunnel. Located in Puwakada County, northwest of Bandung City, with a total length of 4,478 meters, it is the longest tunnel in the whole line. The tunnel is located in a low mountain and hilly area. The geology is clay, mudstone, and volcanic breccia formed by an early volcanic eruption. The underground water level in the tunnel is high, and the tunnel passes through the shallow buried layer for a long distance, so construction is difficult. CREC has adopted a variety of construction methods, such as advanced geological prediction, additional foot locking, side wall grouting, and so on, to ensure construction progress and safety. On February 18, 2022, Tunnel 6 was completed.
Tunnel No.10 is the tunnel with the highest construction risk along the whole line. It is located in the suburb of Bandung City with a total length of 1,230 meters. The surface of the tunnel is mainly distributed in paddy fields, and the exit is villages and towns, with a maximum buried depth of 37 meters. The tunnel underpasses the existing operating railway with a curve radius of only 200 meters at the entrance section. The buried depth of the underpass section is shallow, the surrounding rock is poor, the tunnel body is weak surrounding rock, and the water is abundant. The construction very easy to cause subgrade settlement, which brings risks to the operation safety of the existing railway. CREC has adopted precise monitoring and measurement, vertical and horizontal beam reinforcement, surface grouting, and other technologies to ensure construction progress and safety. On August 6, 2021, the No.10 Tunnel of Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway was completed.
The innovative design of a simply supported box girder improves the seismic efficiency of bridges. Java Island, where the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway is located, is located at the intersection of the Eurasian plate, the Pacific plate, and the Indian Ocean plate, with a seismic intensity of 8 to 9 degrees and frequent volcanoes and earthquakes. To reduce the impact of the earthquake on the bridge, the design department has implemented an innovative design of the simply supported box girder for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway to reduce the weight of the simply supported box girder, which is about 100 tons less than that of the domestic general girder, with a weight reduction of about 12%, and has carried out adequate safety verification.
No.2 super major bridge, the first long bridge of Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway. It has a total length of 36 kilometers and a total of 24 continuous beams. It is close to the expressway from Jakarta to Bandung. The construction site is narrow and the surrounding environment is complex. CREC has scientifically formulated a sectional erection scheme to minimize the impact of the adjacent expressway on the construction and ensure the smooth closure of the continuous beam group. On June 27, 2022, the erection of the last box girder was completed, and the track laying channel of the whole line was opened.
