On March 19, a 4-km rail diversion project for Honghe Station, the largest along the Mile-Mengzi high-speed railway, was completed by China Railway No. 3 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. It marked official joining of the Honghe regular train station yard in the Kunming-Yuxi-Hekou railway, or China-Vietnam International Corridor, and the connection of the Mile-Mengzi high-speed railway with the international corridor. It also created a favorable condition for the alignment, joint test and completion of the Mile-Mengzi high-speed railway by the year end.
Honghe Station is a comprehensive train station connecting the Mile-Mengzi high-speed railway with the Kunming-Yuxi-Hekou railway. It has station yards for high-speed trains and regular trains, respectively. In the diversion project, a 4-km section of the rail connecting Yuxi with Hekou along the China-Vietnam International Corridor was linked with Honghe Station along the Mile-Mengzi high-speed railway. After the opening of the new station, passengers will have more and convenient options among high-speed trains and regular trains.
