On October 31, 17 warriors from China Railway Construction Engineering Group, a subsidiary of CREC, accompanied China"s 39th Antarctic Expedition to participate in the construction and logistical support of Zhongshan Station in Antarctica. This is the 19th time that employees of China Railway Construction Engineering Group have participated in the construction of Antarctic engineering projects.

In early 1980, China began its Antarctic scientific expedition. Since 2002, more than 260 builders of China Railway Construction Engineering Group have traveled to Antarctica with the scientific expedition team, participated in the construction of Zhongshan Station, the most well-equipped, technologically advanced, and large-scale scientific research base in the history of polar scientific research in China, and undertook the construction and maintenance of related supporting facilities such as Great Wall Station, Zhongshan Station, and Taishan Station. It has provided a solid guarantee for the cause of Antarctic scientific research in China.
