Recently, with the completion of the backfilling of the last saline soil in the evaporation pond of H6 Salt Lake, the earthwork construction of the first salt and potassium evaporation pond of the Yuyeyako Salt Lake Project in Argentina, which was constructed by China Railway No.10 Engineering Group Co., Ltd, was successfully completed.

The salt and potassium evaporation ponds in this construction include H5 and H6 salt lake evaporation ponds and K1 and K2 potassium mine evaporation ponds of the Salt Lake Project, with a total of 1.44 million cubic meters of excavation and 1.04 million cubic meters of backfill. At the same time, the laying of geomembrane in the salt and potassium evaporation pond was also successfully constructed, with a total area of 4.57 million square meters.

The Yuyako Salt Lake Project is located in Salta Province, Argentina, about 479 kilometers away from Salta City, in the "South American Lithium Belt" of the Mariana region of the Andes Mountains, and is also one of the most potential salt flats in the region.

This is the first infrastructure project of CREC in Argentina. After the completion of the Yuyako Salt Lake Project, it will help the construction of Ganfeng Lithium Chloride Plant with an annual output of 20,000 tons, and the extracted concentrated lithium brine with a content of 42 G/L will be sent to the processing plant in G Güemes Town, Salta Province for disposal, thus promoting local employment and promoting the cooperation and development between China and Argentina in the field of new energy and green development.
