On September 28, the reconstruction and expansion project of the Pucheng-Laoyu section of the Beijing-Kunming Expressway, which China Railway No.5 Engineering Group built, was completed and opened to traffic.
The project starts from Dongyang Junction Interchange in Pucheng County, Weinan City, and ends at Laoyu Interchange in Zhaoyi District, Xi'an City, with a total length of 125.878 kilometers. The whole line is mainly reconstructed and expanded by widening both sides of existing roads, and constructed according to the standard of two-way eight-lane expressway, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. China Railway No.5 Engineering Group undertakes the construction task of 19.1 kilometers in total length of Bid 2.
After the opening of the project, the traffic pressure of the expressway from Pucheng to Xi'an and from Hanzhong to Xi'an has been effectively alleviated, and the traffic environment of the expressway from Beijing to Kunming and Xi'an to Laoyu has been improved.
