On June 9, in the receiving well on the right line of the Mawan Cross-Sea Passage in Shenzhen, the "Mawan" mud-water balance shield machine with a diameter of 15.53 meters broke through the rock. It marks the completion of the right line of Shenzhen Mawan Cross-sea Passage, the most giant diameter submarine shield tunnel under construction in China, which is jointly constructed by Shenzhen Transportation Public Facilities Construction Center, China Railway Southern Investment Group Co,.Ltd. and China Railway Tunnel Group Co,.Ltd.
Shenzhen Mawan Cross-sea Passage is a critical demonstration of interconnection and transportation construction in the Dawan District of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. It is also the first cross-sea passage in Shenzhen. The total length of the project line is 8.05 kilometers, which is divided into two parts: ground and underground roads. The underground roads are planned to be urban expressways with six lanes in both directions and a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The ground road planning grade is an urban trunk road with 6 lanes in both directions and a 40 km/H design speed.
The shield of the right line of the Mawan Cross-sea Passage is 2063 meters long, of which the sea area section is 1100 meters, which is the control project of the whole line. In the construction process, it is necessary to overcome the world-class construction problems of the submarine tunnel, such as under-crossing the reclamation area with poor geological development and crossing the long-distance soft and hard uneven strata with high water pressure and full-section hard rock strata.
