Recently, the Kiribati Youth Park project, constructed by The First Engineering Bureau of CREC, was officially inaugurated. Over 500 people attended the event, including Kiribati's President Tanesh Mamao, Vice President Toatu, Minister of Agriculture Tekeyala, the Chinese Ambassador to Kiribati Zhou Limin, and various Chinese-funded institutions and expert groups providing aid to Kiribati.

Speaking on behalf of the Kiribati government, Minister Tekeala stated that the Youth Park offers an ideal venue for the people of Kiribati to gather, engage in recreational activities, and exercise. It is a significant symbol of the ever-deepening partnership between Kiribati and China. Furthermore, it lays the foundation for fruitful and increasingly mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations.

The Youth Park project spans an area of approximately 30,000 square meters, funded by the Zhaoqing City Government of China and constructed by The First Engineering Bureau of CREC. The scope of work includes renovating and enhancing the existing park, incorporating additions such as basketball courts, beach volleyball courts, an outdoor fitness equipment center, a children's playground, and a Chinese landscape wall, among other multifunctional facilities. This park marks the first modern, high-quality, and multifunctional sports venue in Kiribati's history, serving as a landmark attraction in Tarawa that will contribute significantly to the country's tourism development.
