On March 13, CREC 1108, the first normal-pressure cutterhead slurry shield developed by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group, a subsidiary of China Railway Hi-Tech Industry, was launched in the large-diameter shield tunnel project of Singapore Metro Cross-Island Line Phase 1.
The Singapore Metro Cross-Island Line is the longest underground metro line under construction in Singapore. Among them, the CR105 project tunnel excavated by "CREC 1108" has a total length of 3157 meters, a most significant slope of 30‰, and a most excellent buried depth of 60 meters. It passes through marine clay, mixed granite, and old alluvial sand layers and passes through important buildings such as Changi Airport, Singapore's transportation hub. The geological conditions of the interval are complex, there are many primary risk sources on the ground, and the construction is very challenging, which puts forward strict requirements for equipment performance and settlement control.
Given the construction difficulties and the individual needs of customers, the equipment design team of China Railway Engineering Equipment Group has tailored a "CREC 1108" slurry shield machine with an excavation diameter of 12.66 meters, a length of about 150 meters, and a total weight of about 3000 tons, and has designed and carried several innovative technologies, such as a normal-pressure tool change system, to ensure that the equipment can be used in composite strata. Effectively deal with construction risks under complex working conditions.
