Recently, the Nisour Bridge, a key component of the Nisour Interchange Project in Baghdad, Iraq's capital, was completed and opened to traffic. The project was designed and constructed by Transtech Engineering Corporation LLC.
The Nisour Interchange Project is the largest and most technically complex initiative among a series of measures by Iraq’s new government to alleviate traffic congestion in Baghdad. Upon completion, the project is expected to significantly reduce traffic jams and noise pollution in the city's core areas. During the project, Transtech Engineering Corporation LLC actively integrated international standards and norms, developing a solution that includes two elevated roads and five tunnels. The project introduced advanced technologies such as post-tensioned bridge cap beam technology, tunnel enclosure systems, and monitoring systems. It also utilized a range of Chinese products, including steel strands, anchor systems, and bridge bearings, with a comprehensive set of "Chinese solutions," "Chinese technologies," and "Chinese products" contributing to the project's high-quality and efficient construction.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani visited the Nisour Interchange Project site four times to oversee the work and expressed high praise for the project's achievements in construction organization, progress management, and localization efforts.
