On February 27th, with the precise placement of a 718-ton steel tower segment, the world's largest span suspension bridge, the Zhangjiagang Yangtze River Bridge, saw the successful hoisting of the first section of its main tower. The bridge is constructed by the China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group ,and participated in by the China Railway Shanhaiguan Bridge Group, which under the China Railway Hi-Tech Industry.
The main tower of Zhang Jinggao Yangtze River Bridge is 350 meters high, equivalent to the height of 125 stories, and will become the world's highest suspension bridge tower after completion. The main tower adopts the steel box-concrete filled steel tube constraint composite system, which is the first in the world. The main tower consists of upper, middle and lower tower columns, which are divided into 30 sections. There are four steel tube confined concrete columns with a diameter of 3.6 meters in the steel box, which are integrated with the steel box through webs and diaphragms. The steel consumption is about 34,000 tons.
The main tower of Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge is composed of 30 sections. The allowable deviation of verticality of the 350-meter tower is within 58 mm, and the deviation of verticality of each section should be controlled within 2 mm. The construction accuracy is extremely high.
