On August 28, local time, the BK Highway project in Kyrgyzstan, constructed by China Railway No.5 Engineering Group under China Railway Group Limited, passed the final inspection and was officially handed over to the client. The inspection was conducted by a joint team comprising members from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Transport, the Technical Supervision Bureau, the Chuy Region Government, and the project consulting company.
The inspection team conducted a comprehensive review, assessing factors such as the smoothness of the pavement, the performance of structures, safety, aesthetics, and feedback from local residents. They unanimously concluded that the project had an outstanding appearance and high-quality construction, with all indicators meeting design and regulatory requirements.
The BK Highway project is located west of Kyrgyzstan's capital, Bishkek. Running east to west, it starts in Bishkek and ends in the city of Karabalta. The main project, including additional works, spans 52.5 kilometers. It is a key section of the Bishkek-Osh trunk road and an important transport corridor connecting Kyrgyzstan with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
As the central "artery" of Kyrgyzstan's north-south transportation network, this section of the road had deteriorated over the years, leading to traffic congestion. However, following reconstruction and repairs, the road is now fully open, reducing the travel time from three hours to just 40 minutes.
