On January 15, Guxi River Bridge, the largest span and longest single bridge in Ma'anshan section of Nanjing-Ma'anshan Intercity Railway constructed by China Railway No.8 Engineering Group, was successfully closed.

The main line of Nanjing-Ma'anshan Intercity Railway is 65.59 kilometers long, with 20 stations. Among them, the Ma'anshan section starts from the boundary of Anhui Province and ends at Dangtu South Station, with a total length of 27.49 kilometers, 8 stations and 1 vehicle depot. The closed Guxi River Bridge is located on the south bank of Chenjia Village, Gushu Town, Dangtu County, Ma'anshan City, with a total length of 400 meters and a span of (100 + 200 + 100) meters.

The bridge has a large span, and its location is adjacent to the existing operating line and crosses the channel, making it difficult to control the line shape and poses high safety risks. At the same time, its design incorporates many complex and large-volume structures, posing significant challenges to the project's construction organization and quality control. During the construction process, the project department of China Railway No.8 Engineering Group focused on the characteristics of the large-span continuous rigid segmental casting construction process. It conducted thorough discussions on key process points such as water heat control for the extra-large volume 0-block, the preloading method for the support system structure of the extra-large volume 0-block, line shape control in the casting stage, and closure gap error control. It also developed relevant technical measures to ensure construction is carried out according to the plan. It implemented the leader's on-site supervision and the safety officer's on-site observation system to supply materials, machinery, and materials, ensuring that construction progresses in an orderly manner according to the construction schedule.
