At 10 o'clock on December 28, the Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway (Beijing Section) was officially opened to traffic and connected with the existing Hebei Section of the Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway. So far, the whole line of the Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway has been smoothly connected, and it can be reached within one hour by driving from the Southwest Fifth Ring Road of Beijing to Xiong'an New Area.
Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway in Snowy Scenery (Beijing Section)
Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway (Beijing Section) starts from the Fifth Ring Road in the north, crosses Yongding River, Fangshan Metro Line and Beijing-Shenzhen Road in the west, turns southward, crosses the Sixth Ring Road and extends southward to the city boundary, connecting with the design starting point of Hebei Section of Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway. The total length of the line is about 27 kilometers, with one super-large bridge, four viaducts, five interchanges, one central line toll station, three ramp toll stations, one management center and one maintenance area.

The project adopts the PPP model, with the social capital party CREC taking the lead to form a consortium and the government investor Beijing Capital Group jointly registering and establishing China Railway Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway Development Co., Ltd. to undertake investment, construction, and operation tasks of the project. The project company is managed by China Railway Investment Group, entrusted by CREC, with eight units including The First Engineering Bureau of CREC, China Railway No.2 Group, China Railway No.3 Engineering Group, China Railway No.5 Engineering Group, China Railway Sixth Group, Shanghai Civil Engineering Co,.Ltd. Of CREC, China Railway Beijing Engineering Group, and China Railway Guangzhou Engineering Group respectively undertaking construction tasks.
Beijing-Xiong'an Bridge of Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway (Beijing Section)
Since the construction of the Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway (Beijing Section) started in December 2020, CREC builders have been adhering to the quality concept of "ingenious quality and meticulous construction", vigorously carrying out scientific and technological innovation, promoting the construction of engineering quality, the deep integration of information technology and business, and comprehensively utilizing more than 30 patents. It has successively overcome the five significant difficulties of "building high-quality projects, guaranteeing the construction cycle, managing and controlling dangerous projects, solving the difficulties of requisition and demolition, and tackling key technologies". Beijing-Xiong'an Bridge, with a total length of 1.62 kilometers, is China's first steel box arch bridge with space special-shaped arch ribs and the largest single-span bridge in Beijing. Through the use of digital twin technology, new technologies such as digital processing and manufacturing of special-shaped curved arch ribs, and monitoring arch rib hoisting brackets, the construction quality of the project has been dramatically improved. Fangshan North Railway Station is the first toll station on the main line of the land viaduct in Beijing. It innovatively adopts the design of the bridge division. It guides the passage of fast and slow cars and passenger and freight cars separately, significantly improving traffic efficiency.

Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway (Beijing Section), as a demonstration "smart highway" in China, is the first time in China to set up reserved bright high-speed lanes to provide vehicle-road communication, high-precision navigation, and early warning services for car owners. The operation and management team of CREC insists on taking scientific and technological innovation as the guide, establishing an intelligent high-speed monitoring center and digital intelligent platform, carrying out prospective research on intelligent transportation, and adopting the "1 + 1 + 1 + 5 + 4" architecture design model to realize scientific management decision-making, intelligent road network dispatching, refined travel service and efficient emergency rescue. It has created the first new-era demonstration intelligent expressway with complete coverage of a 5G private network, vehicle-road coordination, Beidou high-precision positioning, localization server, and other new technologies.
