In the early morning of May 16, the longest and largest bridge of the Xi’an-Ankang High-speed Railway, the Rigid Continuous Girder of the Chan River Bridge, was successfully closed by The First Engineering Bureau of CREC.

Chan River Bridge is located in Baqiao District and Chang'an District of Xi'an City, with a total length of 5333.78 meters. It is designed to cross the Xi’an-Ankang Railway, Chan River, and the planned embankment of Chan River. The main span is (48 + 3 × 80 + 48) meters rigid frame continuous beam. The two rigid-frame main piers are rectangular solid piers, and the other piers are round-ended hollow piers. The structure is 337.5 meters long, has a complex bridge structure design, rugged construction, and high safety risk, which is one of the key and challenging control projects of the Xi’an-Ankang High-speed Railway.

It is reported that the Xi'an-Ankang high-speed railway is the first high-speed railway in southern Shaanxi, with a total length of 170 kilometers. The construction standard is a double-track high-speed railway with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. After completion, it will form a fast passenger transport corridor running through the west and linking Chengdu-Chongqing and Guanzhong urban agglomerations with the Ankang-Chongqing high-speed railway.
