On the morning of July 16, local time, a commencement ceremony was held for the renovation project of the urban section of National Highway 27 in Bamako, Mali, which was constructed by China Overseas Engineering Group West Africa Company. The President of the National Transitional Government of Mali, Assimi Goita, attended the ceremony and announced the official start of the project. Mali's Prime Minister Choguel Kokalla Maiga, ministers of the government's cabinet, Chinese Ambassador to Mali Chen Hong, envoys and representatives of contractors were invited to attend the ceremony.

Bamako National Highway 27 Renovation Project is 9.4 kilometers long, located in the center of the old city of Bamako, the capital. It is part of the widening and renovation project of the old urban highway. After the completion of the project, the original roads can be widened to two-way 4 lanes and two-way 6 lanes, respectively, which can fully improve the traffic capacity of urban roads, alleviate serious traffic jams, and effectively enhance the capital's image.

In his speech on the spot, President Assimi Goita pointed out that the convenience of urban roads is conducive to business development and the flow of people, which can provide more opportunities for regional development. It is hoped that residents along the project will actively support China Overseas West Africa Company to do a good job in road construction.

The head of the National Highway Administration of Mali said that the project pipeline relocation and traffic guidance work are complex, which is a huge challenge to the contractor's coordination and organizational capacity. China Overseas Engineering Group West Africa Company has been the most loyal partner of the Malian government for a long time. It is famous for its strong organizational ability and excellent construction quality, which is believed to ensure the project's timely and high-quality performance.

It is reported that the Bamako National Highway 27 Renovation Project is part of Mali's implementation of the national transport, infrastructure, and open policy action plan. The completion of the project will significantly improve urban traffic conditions, reduce the incidence of traffic accidents, facilitate the travel of nearby residents, and promote the development of commerce along the lines and in the capital economic circle.
