Source: Date:2025年05月14日

On April 21 local time, construction officially began on the repair and upgrade project of the Malema–Cuamba section of the N13 Highway in Mozambique, undertaken by the Angola Branch of China Railway International Group.

Located in the economic heart of Niassa Province, the project includes 35 kilometers of new construction on discontinuous road sections and 67 kilometers of surface repair on existing roads. With a 24-month construction period, the project is commissioned by Mozambique’s National Roads Administration (ANE) and fully financed by a loan from the African Development Bank.

Upon completion, the project will provide continuous asphalt road connectivity from Nampula to Lichinga, forming a complete transport corridor from Nacala Port through Malawi to Lusaka, Zambia. It will eliminate traffic disruptions during the rainy season and greatly facilitate the export of agricultural products and regional trade in Niassa Province.
