From June 16 to 18, Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, conducted an inspection tour in Jiangsu Province, during which he visited the Nanjing North Railway Station project, co-constructed by China Railway Construction Engineering Group and China Railway Beijing Engineering Group, both subsidiaries of CREC.
Premier Li emphasized the need to thoroughly implement President Xi Jinping’s key instructions on economic work, adhere to innovation-driven development, focus on expanding effective demand, foster a strong atmosphere for entrepreneurship, and stimulate momentum and vitality for high-quality development through deepened reform and opening up, ensuring steady economic growth.
At the construction site of the Nanjing North Railway Station, Premier Li closely reviewed the planning, design, and construction progress, observed the ongoing construction, and held discussions with project leaders. He called for high standards in project execution, active exploration of new materials and technologies, thoughtful planning of supporting facilities and industrial layout, and maximizing the project’s ripple effects. He emphasized that quality is of paramount importance and that every step must meet the standards of a “century-long endeavor” to ensure construction excellence.
Upon completion and operation, the Nanjing North Railway Station hub will significantly improve the layout of Nanjing’s railway network, accelerate construction of the Shanghai–Nanjing–Hefei segment of the Shanghai–Chongqing–Chengdu high-speed railway, and play a vital role in developing a railway-powered Yangtze River Delta, promoting high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, enhancing the influence of the Nanjing metropolitan area.
