CREC Heilongtan Low-Altitude Aviation Project Completes Maiden Flight
Source: Date:2025年09月08日

On August 18, accompanied by the roar of its engine, a light sport aircraft lifted off from the newly built 800-meter runway at CREC Heilongtan. The plane circled smoothly in the air, conducted fixed-wing sightseeing flights around the lake and cross-regional flight drills, before returning safely. This marked the successful completion of the maiden flight, opening a new chapter for the low-altitude economy blueprint of the CREC Heilongtan project.

The CREC Heilongtan low-altitude aviation project is a tourism initiative jointly developed by CREC Sichuan Eco-city Investment Company and Sichuan Shunchen Aviation Service Company. As tourism consumption trends toward greater personalization and diversity, aerial sightseeing is gradually shifting from a niche, high-end activity to a more popular experience. The project will allow visitors to enjoy the scenic beauty of Heilongtan from a unique aerial perspective, offering a more direct appreciation of its natural landscapes. Customized flight routes and pilot training services can also be provided to meet visitors’ individual needs.

At present, the project’s core facilities are ready for operation, with supporting infrastructure such as reception and training centers being accelerated, and full operation expected by the end of the year. Once officially launched, the project will offer skydiving, low-altitude sightseeing, pilot licensing, and other specialized services, while also undertaking public functions such as emergency rescue and surveying. It is expected to serve over 100,000 visitors annually and create more than 200 jobs.
