On September 10, the Papua New Guinea (PNG) National Court Project, constructed by China Railway Construction Engineering Group under CREC, was officially put into use.
The project is located in the political and cultural center of Waigani, Port Moresby, the capital of PNG, covering a total land area of about 48,000 square meters and a total construction area of more than 29,000 square meters. It includes the main court building, administrative office building, guest reception building, and auxiliary facilities such as a parking lot, central plaza, and equipment zone. It is currently the highest-standard and largest-scale single government project in South Pacific island nations.
As a landmark project dedicated to the 50th anniversary of PNG’s independence, the project provides 2 Supreme Courts, 3 Appeal Courts, and 9 National Courts along with supporting offices for judges. It will significantly advance PNG’s judicial development and improve the construction of its three-tier judicial system.
