On October 27 local time, the Kisumu Boys-Mamboleo Road section of Kenya’s A1 Highway successfully passed its final inspection and was officially opened to traffic.

Located in Kisumu County, western Kenya, the project is classified as a national-level Class A highway. It features a dual four-lane design and stretches 4.47 kilometers in length. It is the first urban arterial road in Kisumu equipped with a complete traffic signal system.
The opening of the Kisumu Boys-Mamboleo Road has provided a solid foundation for improving the local public transportation system. It effectively alleviates the long-standing last five kilometers congestion from Kakamega to downtown Kisumu, enhancing the convenience and comfort of travel for residents. At the same time, it will boost commercial exchanges and logistics between Kisumu and surrounding areas, injecting new momentum into regional trade and economic growth.
