On October 24, the Jiayuguan Station renovation project on the Lanzhou–Xinjiang Railway, undertaken by China Railway No.10 Engineering Group under CREC, successfully completed the turnout installation task.
Jiayuguan Station is a core hub on the Lanzhou–Xinjiang Railway and the largest passenger and freight marshalling station in the Hexi Corridor of Gansu Province. In recent years, the surge in passenger and freight traffic has exceeded the capacity of existing facilities, making the upgrade of the hub urgent. The renovation project undertaken by China Railway No.10 Engineering Group primarily includes expanding the upbound yard of the existing station, relocating the passenger train maintenance depot, and constructing a new through yard.
Upon completion, the Jiayuguan Station renovation will significantly enhance the overall freight capacity of the Lanzhou–Xinjiang Railway, eliminate interference between passenger and freight operations, and promote the integrated, high-quality development of Jiayuguan’s tourism and logistics industries. It will also strengthen the connectivity of the Lanzhou railway network and play an important role in advancing economic development along the Belt and Road.
