On January 14, the Taihu–Qichun Expressway, with participation from China Railway No.10 Engineering Group under CREC, was fully opened to traffic and put into operation, becoming the fourth expressway corridor linking Hubei and Anhui provinces after the Wuying, Huanghuang, and Mawu expressways.
The Taihu–Qichun Expressway connects Qichun County of Huanggang City in Hubei Province with Chengxi Township of Taihu County in Anqing City, Anhui Province. With a total length of approximately 120 kilometers—about 74 kilometers in Hubei and 45 kilometers in Anhui—it features four lanes in both directions and a design speed of 100 km/h. The section undertaken by China Railway No.10 Engineering Group is located within Tianhua Town and Liufan Township of Taihu County, with a total length of 8.249 kilometers, including approximately 4.39 kilometers of bridges comprising mainline bridges and ramp bridges.
The opening of the Taihu–Qichun Expressway has built a bridge of connectivity for coordinated development between Anhui and Hubei. It is of great significance for consolidating poverty alleviation achievements in former revolutionary base areas, advancing comprehensive rural revitalization, and promoting economic and social development along the corridor.
