On March 26, with the precise installation of the final segment, the steel shell of the main tower of the Shiziyang Bridge—participated in by China Railway Hi-Tech Industry under CREC—was successfully topped out.

The Shiziyang Bridge is a key control project of the Shiziyang Channel, a major transportation hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The main tower stands 342 meters tall, equivalent to a 110-story building. As the world’s first double-deck suspension bridge with a main span exceeding 2,000 meters, it is expected to set five world records upon completion in terms of main span length, tower height, anchorage foundation, main cable scale, and number of traffic lanes. China Railway Hi-Tech Industry is responsible for the manufacturing works under Lots G1 and G2 for the main tower steel shell and anchorage system, as well as Lot G10 for the steel truss girder of the main bridge.

Following the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, the Shiziyang Channel is another mega-scale project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Upon completion, it will open up a new vital corridor for integrated development between the eastern and western banks of the Pearl River Estuary, playing a significant role in advancing high-quality integrated development of the Pearl River Delta and building a 100-kilometer “golden inner bay” around the estuary.
