Recently, the Peru Ayacucho Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Project, undertaken by China Railway No.10 Engineering Group under China Railway Group Limited, successfully passed final acceptance and was officially handed over to the project owner.
Located deep in the Andes Mountains of Peru, the Ayacucho road project spans the Ayacucho and Apurímac regions, with a total length of approximately 132 kilometers and an average elevation of around 4,500 meters. The scope of works by China Railway No.10 Engineering Group primarily included systematic maintenance of the existing roadway, along with the installation and upgrading of traffic signs, road markings, and other safety facilities. The project faced multiple challenges, including harsh climatic conditions and high-altitude construction.
Upon completion, the road’s overall condition and traffic capacity have been significantly improved, substantially reducing transportation time for agricultural and bulk goods. The project has effectively upgraded a vital plateau artery, providing strong support for local economic and social development.
