ENTEBBE, Uganda — Recently, the Africa Branch of China Railway No.10 Engineering Group successfully won the contract for Phase I (LOT1) of the Makindye–Kalidubi River Channel and Box Culvert Construction Project in Uganda.

The project’s main scope of work includes the construction of a new three-cell box culvert along the Namasuba–Bata–Bata section, dredging, soil replacement, and reinforced concrete lining works for approximately 3.2 kilometers of the Kalidubi River channel, as well as the construction of two new five-cell box culverts downstream.

Once completed and commissioned, the project will fundamentally address long-standing drainage challenges along the Entebbe Road corridor in Makindye-Ssabagabo Municipality during the rainy season. It will significantly enhance local transportation resilience and regional disaster prevention and mitigation capacity, delivering substantial benefits to community well-being and socioeconomic development.
