On August 5, the athletics track and field facility at Suzhou Olympic Sports Center, constructed by China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CREC, successfully passed an acceptance inspection conducted by an expert panel from the Chinese Athletics Association. It was certified as an “Athletics Venue Qualified through Acceptance Inspection by the Chinese Athletics Association,” marking that the facility now meets the hardware requirements for hosting provincial- and national-level athletics competitions, with competition results achieved at the venue eligible for recognition by the Chinese Athletics Association.
Suzhou Olympic Sports Center is the main venue for the 16th Anhui Provincial Games in 2026. The complex comprises a stadium, swimming pool, comprehensive public fitness center, and supporting facilities, with a total gross floor area of approximately 89,600 square meters. The stadium itself has a gross floor area of approximately 40,000 square meters and was constructed to the scale of a medium-sized stadium, with a seating capacity of approximately 30,000 spectators. It features a standard 400-meter oval track, a straight track, and venues for various field events, as well as a natural-grass football pitch, all developed in strict accordance with professional competition standards.
To date, the sports complex has successfully hosted events including the Anhui Youth Athletics Championships.
