The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on June 1 that new Ebola cases were found near Mbandaka, Equateur Province, in northwestern DR Congo.
Currently, China Railway No.9 Group Co., Ltd. (CR9), a subsidiary of China Railway Group Ltd. (CREC), has 12 engineering projects under construction in DR Congo, with a total of 2,332 Chinese and Congolese employees. To protect those employees’ health and safety, CR9 immediately took targeted measures to address the Ebola outbreak while continuing its effort to prevent and control COVID-19.

To date, no suspected cases have been reported among its Chinese and local employees in DR Congo, with all employees remaining calm and construction and production projects proceeding in an orderly manner. (By Sun Di and Liu Yuanchun)
