The section in Qinghai Province of the Golmud-Korla High-Speed Railway, the building of which was participated by several CREC subsidiaries, opened on June 30. The railway starts from Golmud of Qinghai Province in the east, stretches westward along the northern side of the Kunlun Mountains and the southern edge of Qaidam Basin, and arrives in Korla of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Around 505.6 kilometers of the 1,213.7-kilometer railway is located in Qinghai Province. 

The railway is a new transportation option connecting central Xinjiang with central Qinghai. It will boost social and economic development in the two provincial-level regions and help the two regions win the fight against extreme poverty and share the achievements created by a moderately prosperous society.(By Hao Yuhu, Yang Xiaofeng, Tan Wenfeng and Huang Bin)
