World’s Largest Cross-river Wind and Rain Bridge Opens to Traffic

Anthem of CREC—“Trailbreaker”

  Fenghuangling Bridge, the world’s largest cross-river wind and rain bridge with the longest span, opened to traffic on December 30, 2021. Located in Liuzhou, southwest China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the bridge was built by Shanghai Civil Engineering Co., Ltd. under CREC.

  The supporting girder of the main structure measures 700 meters in length and 18,600 tons in weight and is formed by 55 sections of steel double-box girders. The erection of the girders was finished with incremental launching method. The longest launching span is 130 meters. The largest wind and rain bridge with the longest span in the world is also a steel-concrete continuous beam bridge with box section and the longest span in China.
