From 18:00 July 18 to July 21, Henan Province suffered from extreme heavy rainfall, while Zhengzhou, the provincial capital, experienced a rare continuous heavy rainfall, with a cumulative average precipitation of 449mm. From 16:00 to 17:00 on July 20, the precipitation in Zhengzhou reached 201.9mm, exceeding the extreme value of hourly rainfall on land in China since records began. In the face of extreme natural disasters, all units of CREC in Henan quickly made an emergency plan for flood control, allocated emergency rescue materials, and organized rescue forces to join the front line of flood control and disaster relief while doing a good job in self-protection, which demonstrated the responsibility and strength of the company.

Employees of Henan subsidiaries of China Railway First Group Co., Ltd. actively participated in the emergency rescue and disaster relief of CREC Zhengzhou Dispatching Center, Zhengzhou Metro Line 6 Project, Line 12, Line 5 and other subway lines.

More than 400 people from the Project Department for 05 Work Area of Zhengzhou Metro Line 7 of the Urban Rail Company under China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group participated in the emergency rescue, and put in six excavators, two 25t cranes, one loader, one forklift, 20 75KW pumps and two large generators to cooperate with the drainage and flood fighting operations.

The units of China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. in Henan participated in flood fighting and disaster relief in Metro Line 5, Xutun Village and Xutian Village in Zhengzhou, in a bid to protect the safety of people's lives and property.

Zhengzhou Company, No.5 Company and other units of China Railway Seventh Group Co., Ltd. organized employees to rush to the disaster site to provide rescue assistance, while allocating high-power pumps, excavators and other mechanical equipment to protect urban infrastructure projects.

Longjiang Eco-city Project Department of No.2 Company of China Railway No.8 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. rushed to the Tahe River for flood control and rescue, and completed reinforcement of 120 meters of river embankment and dredging of more than 280 square meters of river channel.

The units of China Railway No.10 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. in Zhengzhou made full efforts in the rescue work against the difficulties of water and power outages and network interruption. As of the early morning of July 21, nearly 270 people were safely transferred and properly resettled.

The Project Department of Zhengzhou Civil Engineering Control Node Project Bid 08 of CREC Beijing Engineering Group allocated cranes, forklifts, excavators, pumps, sandbags, pump pipes and other emergency materials, and adopted urgent measures to control the flood and eliminate risk on urban roads and construction sites, in order to provide timely support for emergency rescue and disaster relief.

Zhengzhou Rainbow Bridge Project Department of No.1 Company under China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group conducted detailed investigation on key areas such as Rainbow Bridge culverts and slope protection and the municipal main road — North Third Ring Road crossing auxiliary road.

The Pangolin Rescue Team, composed of 13 people from China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Shield Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co., Ltd., trekked five kilometers through waters to the rescue site, transferred more than 20 trapped vehicles and assisted in transferring thousands of people trapped in the flood.
